FEATURES

Boss Laser is now offering “Imported” CO2 laser focusing lenses. Although we recommend our USA manufactured options, these imported versions still meet the minimum quality specifications for our laser machines.

  • LS Machines: Three focal lengths available; 2″, 2.5″, & 4″ (20mm dia.)
  • HP Non-Metal Cutting Head: Two focal lengths available; 2.5″ & 4″ (20mm dia.)
  • HP Metal Cutting Head: Only uses a 2.5” focal length (25.4mm dia.)
  • Older Generation Machines: 1.5” and 3” (limited quantities / call for details)

One of the most commonly asked questions we get is, “What is the difference in the various focal lengths?”. Typically, the shorter the focal length (2″, 2.5″), the finer the point size (depth of field) is of the converging beam. These are traditionally used for higher resolution engraving and marking, but is limited to cutting of thinner materials. NOTE: The 2″ lens is the most often purchased focal length. The longer the focal length (4″), the longer the depth of field of the beam. This set-up is preferred for cutting thicker materials, but provides less detail/resolution to engraving and marking. Keep your optics clean and you’ll have them longer.
